Police officer interdicted for smoking on duty

Sergeant Isaac Nii Sowah, the police officer taped smoking while in uniform has been interdicted, the service announced on Friday (10 June).
In a statement on Facebook, the police said Sowah was captured in uniform smoking a substance suspected to be a narcotic drug.
“The Police Administration has interdicted No. 42681 G/Sgt Isaac Nii Sowah, stationed at the Accra regional police command, was captured in uniform smoking a substance suspected to be a narcotic drug,” the statement said.
“Investigation is ongoing and the sergeant will be taken through the necessary disciplinary and legal action.
In addition, he would be given the necessary psycho-social support in line with the new strategic police welfare policy.”
In February this year, six police officers were interdicted for their involvement in a shooting incident in Lamashegu near Tamale in the Northern Region.
The six include; General Corporal Samson Kweku Darfour, General Corporal Prosper Mormesimu and General Constable Harrison Twum Danso.
