Galamsey Pit Kills 35-Year-Old Man At Nweneso
Kwame Antwi, Thirty Five(35) year old man has been killed by Galamsey pit at Nweneso Number One in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident happened on Sunday, July 3, 2022.
Narrating the incident to newsmen the Assembly Member for Nweneso No.1, Hon. Kwame Atinka said, Romeo, as affectionately called, went to the site with three other friends to mine.
Unfortunately, Romeo fell into the pit mistakenly and the pit caved in on him.
He died instantly.
He revealed that the remains had since been conveyed by the police of Nweneso and deposited at the Toase Government Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
Whether Nananom and himself, as assembly member and his committee members are aware of the Galamsey activities in the area, the Honourable Member affirmed it.
