MTN settles medical bills of mothers of new born babies at KATH
aYo Ghana, a subsidiary of MTN Ghana and one of the leading microinsurance companies in the country as part of its corporate social responsibility, settled the medical bills of some mothers who were facing financial difficulties at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti Region.
A total of 13 mothers received support from aYo Ghana, to the tune of over GH¢. 20,000 to enable them go home and celebrate the yuletide with their families.
Ten other mothers also received hampers making it a total of 23 mothers getting support from aYo Ghana.
Some of the mothers have been held in the hospital for weeks because they failed to raise the funds needed to settle their bills after delivery.
Speaking to OTEC News Jacob Agyenim Boateng after the presentation on Sunday December 25,2022, the chief executive officer for aYo Ghana Mr Francis Gota said the move was an annual ritual by the insurance company to put smiles on the face of needy mothers.
“We believe mothers are to honored and recognized for the immense roles they play in society, thus we opted to honor mothered here by paying some medical bills and provide them with baby care items to lesson their burden”.
“We came here today not only to pay bills and give out hampers, but to also talk to them and encourage them not to give up in life and on their children”
Mr Gota further noted that, the gesture was also aimed at creating the chance for to celebrate the festive season with the mothers.

They explained that the, gesture from aYo Ghana was a life changing moment for them, as it will afford them the freedom to go home back to their families.
