Agogo: Old students of Collins SHS donate teaching and learning materials to alma mater
Old students of Collins Senior High School at Asante Akyem Agogo in the Ashanti Region, have donated some teaching and learning materials to the Home Economics Department of the institution.
The item which were presented on Saturday April 15,2023, according to the group worth GH ¢19, 000
The 1989 Year Group, presented items including, eight kitchen sinks, ten modern tables, three gas cylinders with burners and accessories, a deep freezer among others.
The move according to to the group was to help promote teaching and learning in their alma mater.
Speaking to OTEC News Jacob Agyenim Boateng at a short event to hand over the items, President for the Association, Mr Isaac Okyere said the donation was in fulfillment of a promise they made to support the school in their own small way.
He pledged the group’s continuous support to the school.
“It is a pleasure for us to come together as a group to support the school that nurtured us and we are extremely glad to do so,”
Mr Okyere urged other year groups to come ‘home’ and support the school, adding that, it was their responsibility to give back to the School which made them who they are now.
Headmaster of the school, Mr Umar Ahmed Ampong after receiving the items thanked the group for providing them with equipments which were far beyond their reach.
He explained that, the gesture has taken a huge burden from the school, adding that it would help motivate the students and teachers to improve on academic performance in the facility.
