NPP flagbearer race: Alan submits nomination forms (Photos)
The former minister of trade and industry, Alan Kyerematen, on Monday (12 June) became the first aspirant to submit his completed forms to contest the presidential slot of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Accompanied by scores of his supporters, including MPs, ministers of state, past and present party officials, and youth groups who share in his vision, the forms were received by Evans Nimako, the director of elections of the NPP.
Kyerematen reiterated his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), which he believes will usher Ghana into a new era of stability, growth and prosperity. He said it will be an honour and a privilege to lead the party to a historic victory in 2024.
He resigned as trade minister in January this year to pursue his presidential ambition.
Before his resignation, he championed the government’s One District One Factory (1D1F) agenda, which has since birthed over 170 factories across the country.
Kyerematen also served in the same capacity under former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration.
