Late Asantehene’s Kyeame family wants recognition from NPP and Nana Addo

Children of the late Otumfuo Kyeame Antwi Bosiako are appealing to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the leadership of New Patriotic Party (NPP), to complement the effort of their late father, Kyeame Antwi Bosiako Otumfuo Kyeame, for being the originator of Elephant as the party’s symbol.

Late Kyeame Antwi Bosiako Otumfuo Kyeame have 12 children,

Beatrice Mensah aka Ama Nyarko,

Akwasi Owusu aka TK deceased,

Ama Serwaa aka Georgina Mensah,

Nana Antwi deceased,

Maame Akyeampomaa,

Afiah Agyem, deceased

Kwadwo Mensah aka old man,

Nana Bonsu,

Kwadwo Karikari aka Charles Mensah,

Margaret Mensah,

Kofi Opoku and Maame Pokuaa aka Hajia.

According to them Professor Busia’s mother spilled water on his head and told them to take him to Abidjan in Côte Diviore after which their late father Otumfuo Kyeame Antwi Bosiako drove the late Professor Kofi Abrefa Busia back to Kumasi, where he was told to use the car some days just to convince the security that Professor Busia was still in town.

They further claimed Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President during those days ordered for the arrest of the late Professor Kofi Abrefa Busia but Professor Busia had absconded.

The late Kyeame Antwi Bosiako Otumfuo Kyeame together with his soul brother, Baffuor Akoto, were arrested instead of Professor Busia kept in jail for couple of years.

Late Nana Kyeame Antwi Bosiako, Otumfuo Kyeame aka J E Mensah died at the age of 81 after a short illness at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

His sudden death occurred on Tuesday April, 8 2003.

The late Kyeame Antwi Bosiako, Otumfuo Kyeame’s children are appealing to the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the leadership of New Patriotic Party (NPP), to complement their late father’s effort he made towards the party’s survival.
