Renowned Information and System Analyst, Mr George Akom says the introduction of 5G services in Ghana will enhance businesses in the country.
Mr Akom who is NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency in the Ashanti Region that, the 5G service will provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
According to him, the move would revolutionize the country’s digital landscape and bring high-speed mobile broadband services to Ghanaians which he emphasized will help expand businesses in the country.
The Lecturer at the Ghana Communication Technology in an interview on OTEC FM’S breakfast show dubbed ‘Nyansapo’ on May 31, 2024 urged the public to embrace the roll out of the 5G Service.
“Consumers will have the opportunity to become digital entrepreneurs, driving innovation and economic growth,” the renowned Information and System Analyst, Mr Akom told the sit-in Host Isaac Osei Akoto (Kanu)
His comments comes after the Ministry for Communications and Digitalization announced Ghana’s move to roll out 5G services by the end of 2024.
The ministry further revealed that, government has partnered seven companies including Ascend Digital, K-NET, Radisys, Nokia and Tech Mahindra and two telcos, AT Ghana and Telecel Ghana.
The partners have established the Next-Gen Infrastructure Company which will be the first 5G Mobile Broadband Shared Infrastructure Entity to build a nationwide 4G/5G Network.
Meanwhile, Mr Ackom has emphasized that the rollout of 5G services is critical to achieving the Digital Ghana vision, which aims to leverage technology to drive economic growth, improve healthcare, education, and digital payment transactions.
