Manhyia South NPP parliamentary primary: Napo’s brother, 4 others Pick forms

Five individuals, including the brother of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, have picked nomination forms to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Manhyia South Constituency

The five aspirants, including , Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh brother of Napo, Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour, James Boakye, Mr. Kwasi Koka Gyambibi, and Kwabena Amankwa Antwi, picked  their nominations on the first day of the opening of nominations.

The primaries, scheduled for Sunday July 13, aim to select a candidate to represent the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

 The first Vice Chairperson for the NPP, Danquah Smith-Buttey pledged a free and fair electoral process and urged prospective aspirants to be mindful of their utterances, emphasizing that this is an internal affair.

He noted that, Aspirants are required to pay GH¢35,000 for the filing fee, while females, persons under 40 years old (youth), and physically disabled persons will pay GH¢17,500.

The Secretary for Manhyia South Constituency, Haruna Alhasan, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng revealed that nominations will close on Wednesday, followed by vetting and balloting.

He noted that the main primaries will take place on Sunday.
