The National Service Scheme (NSS) has been commended for offering pedagogic training to personnel posted to teaching fields.
Under the leadership of the new Executive Director, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, NSS has been providing special training to personnel who did not study teaching but have been posted to teaching fields.
According to the Head of Cooporate Affairs for NSS, Armstrong Esaah, the scheme has trained thousands of personnel last year with support from Transforming Teaching Education and Learning (T-TEL).
The training, dubbed “Pedagogy training for untrained teachers on NSS teaching module”, aimed to equip personnel with skills in teaching, enabling them to serve effectively.
Mr Esaah has emphasized that the initiative is part of the new agenda of NSS, which focuses on mobilizing for employment rather than just deployment.
Armstrong Esaah praised the new Executive Director, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, for introducing innovations that have transformed NSS into a more impactful and employment-focused organization.
Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on Sunday, Armstrong Esaah highlighted the significance of the pedagogic training in enhancing the skills of personnel posted to teaching fields.
He emphasized that the training has enabled personnel to serve effectively, making a positive impact on the education sector.
