Ama Pomaa Boateng Presents 150 Laptops, Teaching Aids To Three Juaben Schools

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Juaben Constituency, Hon Ama Pomaa Boateng has presented 150 laptops and tablets to students at the Abetenem MA, Dumakwai MA and Juaben Methodist Basic Schools.

The three time MP also presented teaching and other learning aids to teachers at the three beneficiary schools.

Speaking at a brief ceremony at the Education Directorate at Juaben, Hon Pomaa Boateng said the gesture was aimed at scaling up the knowledge levels of basic school pupils at the three schools.

“Last year i had the opportunity to present similar items and ICT tools to other schools in the constituency and today i am here to donate these to the three benefiary schools so that we can get the pupils to become technically and technologically inclined so that they fit into the current scheme of education by using ICT tools”, the MP stated.

Charge:

Hon Pomaa Boateng urged school authorities to take advantage of the learning tools to encourage students to study hard.

She called on them to also ensure the tools are put into good use and the necessary maintenance regimes carried out.

Promise:

The MP promised to use her influence to lobby for the set up of more tech libraries so that every student in Juaben could get the opportunity to learn ICT to improve their lives.

The MP gave the Education Directorate GHC 20, 000 to cater for other additional issues they had on their hands to attend to.

Technology Educator:

Douglas Ayitey, Tech Educator from Coral Reef Innovation Hub explained that the teachers of IT in the three schools would have laptops to carry out their instructions.

He noted that the laptops of the teachers would serve as the main server as the 50 students connect and link up their tablets to learn and take instructions from.

Mr Ayitey said the system had been designed such that teachers would have control and regulate what students learn at a particular time.

Municipal Director of Education:

Speaking at the ceremony, Miss Phyllis Boateng, Municipal Director of Education thanked the MP for the gesture.

She noted that the presentation was timely since schools were now taking part in various ICT programs under the current curriculum.

Chief of Dumakwai:

Nana Nti Yeboah, the Regent of Dumakwai commended the MP for the gesture and asked the school authorities to use the ICT tools to improve learning outcomes in the Juaben communities.

He noted that the Juaben Constituency had been blessed to have a leader whose mindset is about getting the best of education for children in the communities.
