Joint burial held for victims of timber truck accident at Ahafo Mim
A joint burial ceremony was held yesterday in Ahafo Mim for 12 victims of a tragic accident involving a timber truck and a bus carrying workers from a Chinese wood company.
The accident, which occurred three weeks ago, claimed the lives of eight workers at the scene, with four others succumbing to injuries at the hospital.
The bodies were lined up side by side for the close-casket service, sparking a wave of emotion among mourners.
The incident happened early in the morning as the bus was transporting over 50 workers to their workplace.
The crash involved the company’s bus, which had the registration number AC 775-24, and a timber truck.
Reports indicate that the minibus driver, while attempting to overtake the timber truck, lost control due to smoke emanating from the truck, which obscured his vision, leading to the deadly collision.
