Mahama’s desperation for power: A cause for concern – Dr Keskine Owusu-Poku

Dr. Keskine Owusu Poku, a member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has sounded a warning about former President John Dramani Mahama’s increasing desperation for power.

The NPP communications team member, cautions that former President John Dramani Mahama’s zeal for power has crossed ethical lines.

He warned of a troubling willingness to do whatever it takes to regain power, sparking concerns about Ghana’s future under Mahama’s leadership.

Speaking on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM’s afternoon political show Dwabrem, Dr. Poku noted that Mahama’s move to lead demonstration against the Electoral Commission of Ghana EC has no moral grounds and are solely aimed at scoring cheap political points.

He noted that, the former president’s recent actions, including leading NDC members in a demonstration against the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC), raise concerns about his willingness to do anything for power.

” This is particularly troubling, given his past statements. On April 15, 2016, Mahama said demonstrations wouldn’t make elections credible, and on November 12, 2016, he accused the NPP of setting the stage to dispute the 2016 presidential election results when the then opposition called for a credible voter register”, he told the programme host Dr Cash.

Dr. Poku urged Ghanaians to reject the NDC and their unfounded claims against the EC.

“With Ghana’s economy and progress at stake, it’s crucial to consider the leadership style and vision of those seeking power”

“As the country moves forward, Ghanaians must prioritize leaders who listen to and address their needs, ensuring progress and prosperity for all”.

He noted that Mahama’s desperation for power poses a risk of returning to a past fraught with economic mismanagement and corruption
