Chairman for the Heal Komfo Anokye Project (HeKaP), Mr Samuel Adu Boakye has urged KATH Union members to use their Influences to get people to donate towards the renovation of the premier hospital.

This, he noted has become necessary due to slow receipt of funds to aid the renovation project.

The Chairman made these comments when Staff from the eight (8) unions at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Thursday joined the Chief Executive Officer, Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah to visit the A-block where renovation works were ongoing.

Currently, the ceilings and interior fittings at the A-Block wards are almost complete while beds and tiles for the final stages are available at the stores of KATH.

Chief Executive Officer:

Speaking to the Union Staff and the media while inspecting the wards under renovation, the CEO noted that it was important that unions with their staff were made to see the actual work ongoing for themselves.

This, he said would make them know the extent of work and appreciate the task ahead of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project Management.

“It was important that we gave you the opportunity to visit to see things for yourselves and to ascertain for yourselves the volume of work being done so you could appreciate as well as contribute towards the Renovation Project as unions”, the CEO stated.

Appeal:

Speaking to the media after the tour, Chairman of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project (HeKaP), thanked the unions for showing support to the management since the project commenced.

He noted that with them seeing the work being done it will motivate them to tell their friends and acquaintances to donate money to help do a complete job of renovating all the four blocks at the hospital.

The Chairman also used the occasion to appeal to other organisations and private individuals to keep their donations coming since the project could be completed faster when all funds are available.

“So far we have received only 40% out of the 10 million dollars  we’ve projected for the complete works at 4 blocks and we appeal to all persons as well as companies and institutions to donate to help put KATH in the best if shapes”, the Chairman pleaded.
