The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako has charged residents of Asokwa to vote en bloc for Dr Mahamodu Bawumia as President and Madam Patricia Appiagyei as Member of Parliament for Asokwa on December 7.

Addressing residents of the Municipality on Tuesday during a campaign tour of markets, streets, schools and community centres, “Wontumi” as the Chairman is affectionately called, asked residents to give the NPP candidates an overwhelming endorsement on December 7.

The regional Chairman noted that the NPP had put the priorities of the populace ahead of every initiative it rolled out in the eight years of being in government.

“Since 2017, the Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia government has put the needs of the populace ahead of everything it has done and the social intervention policies including free SHS, one village one dam, one district one factory projects speak for itself”, the Chairman stated.

Deception:

The Chairman told residents that the NDC through its flag-bearer and Parliamentary candidate were entering homes in Asokwa with lies that they will do better in government.

According to him, the NDC milked Ghana dry when they had the opportunity to govern from 2009 to  2016.

He said the NDC with no crisis or world emergency like COVID-19 failed to carry out any social intervention project for the people.

“In the 8 years NDC was in power, with no single world crisis or outbreak of any deadly disease, they still failed to carry out any social intervention to benefit the poor, needy and vulnerable but are now entering homes in Asokwa promising freebies”, Chairman Wontumi dislosed.

Madam Patricia Appiagyei:

Speaking at separate engagements during the campaign tour, three time Member of Parliament for Asokwa and Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament,  Madam Patricia Appiagyei appealed to residents to endorse her for a 4th term.

This, she noted would afford her the opportunity to carry out other social intervention projects to benefit all the communities in the Municipality.

According to her, the youth needed job opportunities to make their lives count for themselves and their families.

“My 4th term would be an opportunity for me to lead a revolution of jobs and empowerment of the youth in Asokwa as i also plan to resource others who are in their own businesses for expansions”, the NPP Parliamentary candidate intimated.
