Election 2024: NDC resorting to violence since they knows it will lose – Adomako Baafi warns after NPP Ejura youth organiser assault
A member of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, Yaw Adomako Barfi, has indicated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has started resorting to violence since it knows it will lose the December 7 polls.
He said the NDC has acknowledged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,’s campaigns have well been received by Ghanaians, compared to John Mahama’s, hence, an admission of defeat.
Yaw Adomako Barfi was making reference to the assault incident recorded at the Naagyei FM at Ejura in the Ejura Sekyeredumase constituency in the Ashanti region, where the NDC communicator physically assaulted the NPP communicator.
The suspect, Abubakari Sadiq Osman, is alleged to have pounced on the victim, Abdul Raman Hudu, during a morning show on the radio on Friday without any provocation, resorting to multiple degrees of injuries on the suspect.
Speaking to Otec News on Monday, Yaw Adomako Barfo asserted that the NDC led by former President John Mahama, who lacks credibility, “has no campaign messages and has now resorted to violent attacks ahead of the general elections.”
The NDC people mistakenly thought that because of the global hardship they were going to take the elections for granted, and before they realized, the way we have conducted ourselves, Ghanaians have bought into our campaign,” he added.
Yaw Adomako Barfo clarified that “Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been tested, full of humility, he has the wisdom, and he is a symbol of true leadership as compared to John Mahama. The good works of President Nana Akufo Addo are added advantage to the NPP messages, which Ghanaians have bought into it.”
“The NDC is aware that the December 7, 2024, presidential election will result in defeat, and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will take office as Ghana’s next president on January 7, 2025,” he said in closing.
“The NDC knows that nothing but defeat awaits them on December 7, 2024, presidential election, and on January 7, 2025, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will be the next president in Ghana,” he concluded.
The violence incident at Naagyei FM at Ejura
In a shocking display of violence, a supporter of the NDC, Abubakari Sadiq Osman, physically assaulted Abdul Raman Hudu, a supporter of the NPP, during a live radio program on Friday, October 17, 2024.
The incident occurred at Naagyei FM at Ejura in the Ejura Sekyeredumase constituency in the Ashanti region where both supporters were invited to discuss the upcoming elections.
The victim, Abubakari Sadiq Osman, representing the NPP, broke the silence on what transpired and told Otec News that Abubakri Sadiq Osman pounced on him without pronouncing any offensive words to the NDC Community.
“During the attack, Abubakari Sadiq Osman stabbed the lower eyelid with a pencil, hit the forehead several times, and his back with a decoder,” he narrated.
“As we speak now, I am at the Ejura Government Hospital, I cannot walk due to the injuries obtained at my spinal cord, my lower eyelid has received stitches, and my head has been bandaged,” he continued.
Abubakari Sadiq Osman said the case was reported to the Ejura Divisional Police Command and a medical form was subsequently issued for medical treatment.
The case was scheduled to be heard at the Mampong District Court on Monday, October 21, 2024, but the Attorney-General Office in Kumasi has called for the docket for study, according to Sadiq Osman.
He expressed his gratitude to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their support and for taking care of his medical bills and other expenses.
