MTN Ghana Pledges Continuous Support for Girls in ICT Programs

Telecommunication giant MTN Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in policies that promote girls’ participation in ICT-related programs.

The investment According to MTN aims  to bridge the gap between boys and girls in ICT-related jobs nationwide.

At the “Girls in ICT” program held at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), hundreds of girls showcased their impressive ICT skills.

 Sophia Tandoh, a member of MTN’s Corporate Affairs Division, praised the government for ensuring girls’ access to ICT programs.

 This initiative is part of MTN Ghana’s broader efforts to support digital inclusion and empower girls through technology.

Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, emphasized the importance of pushing more girls into ICT training.

This, she believes, will equip girls with essential skills to navigate the digital environment and become agents of change.

MTN Ghana has been supporting the “Girls in ICT” initiative since 2021, investing over  millions of Ghana cedis  and training hundreds  girls and teachers in basic ICT skills.

The company’s commitment to gender equality and digital inclusion is evident in its partnership with Mobile Web Ghana to celebrate the International Day for Girls in ICT.

By supporting this initiative, MTN Ghana demonstrates its dedication to creating a brighter future for Ghanaian girls in the tech industry.

The company’s efforts align with its strategic objectives, which prioritize connectivity, inclusion, and empowering girls through education and skills development.
