The Ashanti Development Forum has emphasized why the Ashanti Region is better off with Bawumia than John Mahama.
The forum during a press conference addressed by Dr Keskin Owusu-Poku highlighted three key areas where the NPP has outperformed the NDC: project completion, healthcare, and road infrastructure.
Project Completion: NPP’s Proven Track Record
According to the forum the NPP has demonstrated a strong commitment to completing inherited projects in the Ashanti Region.

In contrast, the NDC failed to complete any inherited projects during their 8-year tenure from 2009 to 2016.
The Nana Addo government has successfully completed 7 out of 8 hospitals inherited from previous governments, 3 inherited markets, and initiated 3 major abandoned projects, including the 800-bed KNUST Teaching Hospital and the Boankra Inland Port.
Healthcare: NPP’s Unmatched Record
Dr Keskin emphasized that, John Mahama’s healthcare record in the Ashanti Region has been marred by the imposition of capitation, which resulted in the loss of lives and widespread pain.
He added that the NHIS collapsed under NDC’s watch, leading to private health providers rejecting NHIS card holders.
In contrast, the NPP has completed 7 hospitals inherited from previous governments and initiated 7 new projects, with 18 ongoing at various levels.
Road Infrastructure: John Mahama’s Broken Promises
The Ashanti Development Forum recalls John Mahama’s dismissive response to the region’s pleas for better roads in 2016.
Despite the deplorable state of roads, Mahama labeled the people of Ashanti Region as “ungrateful,” stating that not even constructing roads with gold would satisfy them.
This insult is emblematic of Mahama’s broken promises to the region.
