New York-Based Assemblies of God Church donates GHC30k to the needy in Ghana
The Ebenezer Assemblies of God, Dorcas Ministry, based in Bronx, New York, has demonstrated its commitment to supporting the needy this Christmas season.
The church has set aside an amount of 30,000 cedis to support the less fortunate in Ghana.
As part of this initiative, the church’s leadership, led by Rev. Pastor Benjamin K. Boakye and President Mrs. Helena Frimpong, visited Chosen Generation of Jesus Christ orphanage home at Atwima Denkyemuoso in the Ashanti Region.
The team donated essential items worth hundreds of cedis to the home.
The donation included clothes, oil, 40 bags of 5kg rice, sardines, and biscuits. According to the church’s ministry, this gesture is part of their mandate to support the needy.
The items was presented by a journalist with the Kumasi based OTEC 102.9 FM Jacob Agyenim Boateng on behalf of the Ministry on Tuesday December 10, 2024
Receiving the items on behalf of the home, Hon. David Asare, the Assembly Member for the area, expressed his gratitude for the timely donation.
He revealed that the home was facing a food shortage at the time of the donation, commending the church for their support.
This act of kindness by Dorcas Ministry , is a testament to the power of community and the importance of giving back, especially during the holiday season.
Empowerment Initiative for Needy Widows and Individuals
In a bid to support the vulnerable in society, the Ebenezer Assemblies of God, Dorcas Ministry , has embarked on an empowerment initiative.
The Ministry has set aside funds to provide startup capital for needy widows and individuals, enabling them to start or expand their businesses.
This move aims to provide a dignified means of livelihood for the beneficiaries, helping them to avoid begging on the streets.
The church’s resolution is to support at least ten widows by providing them with raw materials for their businesses.
By empowering these individuals, the church hopes to create a positive impact on their lives and the community at large.
This initiative is a testament to the church’s commitment to serving the needy and promoting self-sufficiency.
