Post-Election Violence in Ghana threatens Foreign Direct Investments – Osabutey Abass
Osabutey Abass, Security Analyst and Executive Director for Platform for Peace and Security Africa
Renowned Security Analyst and Executive Director for Platform for Peace and Security Africa, Osabutey Abass, has expressed concerns that the ongoing post-election violence in Ghana could significantly impact foreign direct investment in the country.
According to Abass, the escalating vandalism of state institutions and properties will deter investors from coming to Ghana.
He emphasized this point during an interview on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM’s afternoon political show, Dwabrem Hosted by Prince Nii Ade aka Dr Cash.
Abass urged President-elect John Dramani Mahama to call on all members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to avoid getting involved in the chaos, warning that it may have a negative impact on his administration.
Ghana has garnered international admiration for its peaceful elections, and Abass cautioned the youth not to mar this achievement.
The country’s reputation as a stable democracy is crucial for attracting foreign investment, which is essential for economic growth.
