The Ministry of Education has released an additional GH₵25 million to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to support its operations and ensure the smooth and seamless continuation of marking activities.
This financial boost aims to address the ongoing challenges faced by WAEC and expedite the release of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.
Kwasi Kwarteng, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education in a statement issued on Monday, December 23 confirmed the release of the funds and assured the public that WAEC has committed to releasing the WASSCE results soon.
This move is expected to alleviate some of the financial pressures on WAEC and facilitate the timely completion of their marking processes.
The additional funding comes as a relief to students, parents, and educational institutions who have been eagerly awaiting the results.
