Popular morning show host in Kumasi, Andrew Akuoko Korankye, also known as Captain Koda, has sparked controversy by describing President Mahama as a “senior clearing agent” barely a month into office.
This statement comes after the president instructed his Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Akurutinga Ayine to discontinue corruption cases against prominent NDC members who were standing trial at various courts of competent jurisdiction.
According to the host of OTEC FM’s Morning show Nyansapo, this trend is “strange” and undermines the rule of law.

Attorney General withdraws charges against former COCOBOD CEO Opuni, Agongo after 7 years
The State has dropped all charges against former Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni and businessman, Seidu Agongo, after nearly seven years on trial.
On Tuesday, January 28, Enam Loh Mensah, a State Attorney told the High Court that the Attorney General has instructed that the charges be withdrawn and the same has been filed.
According to Captin Koda, It’s wrong for the President Mahama who has previously tagged his predecessor, President Nana Addo Danquah Akufu Addo as being a “clearing agent” during opposition and emphasized his commitment to the fighting corruption and promoting good governance.
Expressing his opinion the developments on Friday January 31, 2025, Captain Koda urged the government to allow state institutions to work independently, ensuring that such cases are brought to a logical conclusion.
He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in governance.
