Ashanti Region: GWL restores supply from Barekese Treatment Plant after maintenance

Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has restored water supply from the Barekese Water Treatment Plant (WTP), following a recent shutdown to address operational challenges at the Suame Roundabout.
According to the company, the maintenance was necessary to ensure the reliability of the water supply, despite ongoing construction projects in the region.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, March 19, GWL noted that while some customers would experience an immediate return of service, others might face delays as pressure levels gradually build to optimal distribution levels.
The company however assured the public of its commitment to providing reliable water services, pledging to work diligently to ensure that every customer receives an uninterrupted supply.
“Management extends our heartfelt appreciation to the Regional Minister for the Ashanti Region, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, for his unwavering support and guidance throughout this process. His involvement has been crucial in facilitating a smooth resolution to the
challenges, ” The statement concluded.
