Ashanti Regional Minister Stops Rebuilding Efforts at Adum PZ Fire Site

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has rejected attempts by some traders who were affected by the Adum PZ fire incident to reconstruct structures at the area.

Following the devastating fire incident at Adum PZ, which destroyed hundreds of shops on Friday, March 21, 2023, the victims expressed their desire to reconstruct the area again.

Responding to the traders, Dr. Amoakohene urged them to exercise patience and allow experts to assess the situation first.

He emphasized that individual traders will not be allowed to build until enough data is gathered about the incident.
Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, the Minister announced that a committee will be set up to meet with the leadership of the traders for a broader consultation. This, he explained, will provide enough information for the government to provide the needed help to them.
Dr. Amoakohene assured the affected traders that the government will be with them to ensure they get back on their feet.
