Ophelia Prempeh-Kessie Adjudged Most Inspiring Female Politician

Miss Ophelia Samaaba Prempeh-Kessie, a former SRC President of Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA)-Kumasi Campus and the Director of Communications for Subin branch of the NPP has been adjudged as the Most Inspiring Female Politician In Ashanti for the year 2025.

At an event held at the GNAT Hall in Kumasi over the weekend, the Career Excellence Awards (CEA), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) recognised the female politician for her exemplary role in shaping the politics of the country especially in the Ashanti Region.

In a citation signed by the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CEA, Mr Kobina Crentsil said Miss Prempeh-Kessie has by her conduct and personal actions become an icon to the youth and women in Ghana. 

“Miss Prempeh-Kessie has shown commitment to the course of development in the area of politics particularly on issues of women empowerment and youth development and CEA is honoured to award her as the Most Inspiring Female Politician in Ashanti”, the citation confirmed.

Background:

Miss Ophelia Samaaba Prempeh-Kessie is a female politician who has risen through the ranks of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to become the current Director of Communications at the Subin Branch.

Committed to women and children welfare, Miss Prempeh-Kessie has carried out outreaches to the needy and persons at orphanages across Ghana especially in the Ashanti Region. 

Famously known for celebrating her birthdays at orphanages in Kumasi, the female Politician has so far touched the lives of  inmates at most needy homes and orphanages in Subin and other communities in Ashanti. 

With a strong sense of generosity, Miss Prempeh-Kessie who is popularly known as “Emfresh” has provided for the needs of widows and the aged as well as the sick at hospitals at regular intervals especially during festive occasions. 

Currently, the famous female icon is aspiring to lead the Ashanti Regional wing of Women in the NPP, a position she envisages to use to push the agenda of women and their welfare in the party.

Last week’s event in Kumasi by CEA was the second edition.

Present at the ceremony were famous politicians, chiefs and people shaping the lives of the youth and women in the country.

Danny Opoku Antwi, the NPP-USA  branch Youth Organiser was also recognised as the Most Inspiring Youth Organiser in that category.
