Ramseyer Co-Operative Credit Union appeals to Presbyterian Churches to promote financial inclusion for economic empowerment

Ramseyer Co-Operative Credit Union (RCCU) has extended an invitation to Presbyterian Churches in Ghana to collaborate and promote financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and social well-being among their members.

The partnership aims to leverage the credit union’s financial expertise and the church’s extensive network to provide affordable financial services, education, and support to Presbyterian Church members.

The collaboration is expected to bring numerous benefits to Presbyterian Church members, including access to affordable loans, financial education, and savings mobilization.

The invitation was made by the CEO of Ramseyer Co-Operative Credit Union Mr Kennedy Yeboah during the 25th anniversary launch of the credit union in Kumasi on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The 25th anniversary celebration was under the theme “25 Years of financial Excellence and Trust”.
The anniversary launch also coincided with the inauguration of Ashtown Branch, bringing the branches to six, after starting operations from the Ramseyer Memorial Presbyterian Church in Adum, Kumasi in the Ashanti region, in the year 2000.
The launching was attended by share-holders, past and present employers, customers, financial experts, and the general public.
Mr Kennedy Yeboah said the collaboration will afford the members have access to loans at competitive interest rates, enabling them to finance their businesses, education, and other needs.
Apart from that, “Ramseyer Cooperative Credit Union will provide financial literacy training to church members, empowering them to make informed financial decisions,” he added.
In addition, Kennedy Yeboah said “The credit union will encourage church members to save regularly, promoting a culture of savings and financial discipline”.
“By working together, Ramseyer Cooperative Credit Union and Presbyterian Churches in Ghana can build a stronger, more resilient community, where members can thrive financially, socially, and spiritually,” he concluded.
The Board Chair of Ramseyer Cooperative Credit Union, Mr Minta Bieni, said the credit has significantly grown, from 16 members (share holders) to over 5,000, serving thousands of members.
With this, he said the credit has the capacity to deliver on its mandate in serving the public with loyalty, trust and excellence.
