WATCH: 4 killed in gory accident on Kumasi-Obuase highway including six-month-old baby

Four persons, including a six-month-old baby, have been confirmed dead in a gory accident that occurred on the Kumasi-Obuase Highway.

Dozens of people have also been injured in the accident.

Witnesses reported that a Ford vehicle with registration number GW-281-12, traveling from Tarkwa to Kumasi, attempted to overtake and collided head-on with a Sprinter bus with registration number AC-1794-17.

The accident occurred at Odumase, a community along the road, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

The Assembly Member for “Biibi Wo Man Mu” electoral Area, Hon. Sampson Appiah, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, said the injured have been sent to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

He revealed that the driver of the Ford vehicle lost one of his legs, while the driver of the Sprinter bus died on the spot.

He noted that it took the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to rescue the injured from the wreckage.

The Assembly Member attributed the accident to overspending on the highway, calling on the police to check drivers on the road.
