Watch: Kumasi Adum PZ fire victims reject donation from Interior Minister

Victims of the Kumasi Adum PZ fire outbreak have rejected a donation of rice and oil from Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak Mohamed.

This comes after the Asawase MP visited the traders with a truck full of food items.

Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, the traders say all they want is for the government to rebuild the area for them.
The traders have emphasized that they will resist any attempt by authorities to evacuate them from the land.

Meanwhile, the Interior Minister, who looked confident, called for pragmatic measures to end market fires.

He disclosed that Ghana records an average of 50 fires a day from October to February every year.
He noted that this situation eats into Ghana’s economy, advocating for measures to halt the fires.
He, however, pledged his support to ensuring the Adum fire victims are back on their feet again.
