A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Amoako Baah, has attributed the party’s defeat in the 2024 polls to the arrogance displayed by former President Akuffo Addo.
Dr. Baah believes that in the latter part of his tenure, the former president acted more like a ruler, lording over Ghanaians instead of serving them.
One specific incident that contributed to the NPP’s unpopularity, according to Dr. Baah, was when the former president ordered some chiefs to stand before greeting him.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, Dr. Baah emphasized the need for the NPP to correct such incidents and regain public support.
He urged party members to respect Ghanaians, particularly chiefs, who are major stakeholders in national development.
