AshantiFest: Regional Minister pledges support to Afia Kobi Ampem Girls SHS and other STEM Schools

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has pledged government support to Afia Kobi Ampem Girls SHS and other schools engaging in innovative projects in technology.
This promise was made during the Ashantifest celebration at the Prempeh Assembly Hall, where dozens of schools from basic to Senior High School level showcased their innovations.
Afia Kobi Ampem Girls SHS stole the show with their impressive display of drones, drawing praise from the Minister.
Dr. Amoakohene expressed the government’s commitment to supporting schools that develop inventions and creations that solve everyday problems.
“There are aircraft and drones on the other side of the field; we want to encourage you to keep doing well. As government, we will assure you of our support,” he said.
The Ashantifest is a two-week program organized by the Ashanti Regional Minister to showcase the region’s rich culture, economic opportunities, and other potentials.
Dr. Frank Amoakohene called on all stakeholders to support the event to make it a successful one, highlighting the importance of collaboration in promoting innovation and development in the region.
The Engineering Club of Afia Kobi Ampem Girls SHS, led by Engineer Ferdinand Sam, has built and managed drones, earning the school recognition as one of Ghana’s top STEM schools.
Responding to the Minister’s commendation, the students expressed eagerness to further their innovation with support.
They appealed to the government and stakeholders to back their efforts in solving problems in the country.
