Dozens of Babies Suffer Infections from Fake Diapers on Market – CPA

The Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) has revealed that dozens of infants in Ghana are suffering from infections due to the use of fake baby diapers on the market.

Some babies who haven’t contracted infections are experiencing skin rashes and sores.
Executive Director, in charge of Mediation and Arbitration at CPA, Nana Prempeh Ogueabuor Aduhene, disclosed this on OTEC 102.9 FM’s morning show, Nyansapo.
The CPA had previously cautioned the public about the influx of fake and substandard baby diapers, which were rejected in their countries of origin due to safety concerns.
The agency attributes the problem to lax enforcement of regulations, allowing unscrupulous importers to pose health risks to infants.
The CPA has already cracked down on these diapers in the Greater Accra Region and plans to expand the effort to other regions.
