Kumasi prepares for Eswatini monarch with massive sanitation exercise

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) will stage a large-scale clean-up on Saturday (21 June), to prepare the city for the official visit of King Mswati III of Eswatini.
The monarch is due in Kumasi from 24 to 28 June, following an invitation by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The KMA says all shops and businesses in the Central Business Districts will close from 6:00am to 12:00pm to allow for full participation in the exercise.
“The goal is to ensure Kumasi is pristine and ready to welcome the esteemed royal guest,” the Assembly said in a statement.
Residents and businesses have been urged to take part in the effort, which the KMA says is an opportunity to showcase the city’s culture, hospitality, and civic pride.
