NPP’s disunity will cost them 2028 polls – Dr. Abraham Gyamfi

A lecturer at the Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Dr. Abraham Gyamfi, has predicted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will lose the 2028 polls, even if they present Jesus Christ as their flagbearer, unless they change their ways.

According to Dr. Gyamfi, the party’s current disunity will make it difficult for them to compete with the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking on OTEC 102.9 FM’s “Dwabrem” show on June 23, 2025, Dr. Gyamfi noted that the NPP’s focus on presenting a presidential candidate rather than building a strong party will be their downfall.

“I have observed the NPP is more interested in presenting a presidential candidate instead of a party, and let me tell you, it will take a stronger party to win general polls, not just a candidate,” he said.

Dr. Gyamfi emphasized that the party needs to present both a stronger party and a good candidate to win power.

“If the NPP wants to compete for power and win, they have to focus on uniting their base for the electorates to buy their ideologies.

NPP has to build a strong party or forget 2028,” he stressed.
