SRC Executives At CSU Commission Learning And Leisure Arena On Campus

The Executives of the Students Representative Council (SRC) at the Christian Service University (CSU) on Monday commissioned a space where students could recline for leisure and personal studies.

Speaking at the brief ceremony, Dr Stephen Banahene, the Pro-Vice Chancellor at CSU commended the SRC executives for undertaking an impressive project.

He noted that leadership was meant to initiate and effect changes that are required to impact lives.

“For the SRC to decide to complete a space known as Students Arena to enable students to have some treasured moments after lectures where they could eat some meals and join colleagues to discuss issues of education was a great initiative”, the Pro-Vice Chancellor noted.

Dr Banahene also asked the SRC executives to keep an eye on the new space and ensure it serves the intended purpose.

He noted that money had been invested and therefore the need to maintain the place and keep it tidy at all times.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor rallied the students to make good use of the arena to serve their needs.

“I am hopeful this space would provide the kind of environment for personal studies and leisure so that students would not feel bored after lectures. Today’s commissioning is therefore to the credit of these SRC executives for completing something they took over from their predecessors and I pray they maintain same to serve the purpose”, Dr Banahene stated.

SRC President:

On his part, Richard Owusu, the SRC President thanked the school authorities for supporting his outfit to complete the Students Arena.

He disclosed that the idea wae mooted by his predecessor President, adding that he and the current  executives decided to take it up and complete same to serve the purpose it was intended for.

Mr Owusu emphasised the importance of preserving the facility and called on students to support its upkeep.

“It is important that having completed this project we ensure that it is maintained for the benefit of current and future students as well as the university community”, the SRC President stressed.
