Ashanti Region: Father sets room ablaze, kills 17 year old daughter at Jacobu
A 50-year-old farmer has allegedly set a room hosting his wife and seven others on fire, killing his own 17-year-old daughter in the process.
The incident occurred at Asuoso Fenaso near Jacobu in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region on Friday, July 25, 2025.
Residents revealed that the man attempted to burn his wife after the woman refused to have sexual intercourse with him.
An eyewitness told OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng that eight persons were in the room, including the suspect’s daughter, when the incident happened.
However the deceased who was asleep failed to get out of the room on time leading to her demise
The suspect attempted to commit suicide by drinking weed killer but was apprehended by the youth in the area.
However, he was lynched by some agitated youth in the area
. Both the father’s and daughter’s bodies have since been deposited at a morgue by the police in the area.
