NPP Needs Solid Structure Before Considering Any Other Thing – Asabee Reiterates

Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng, former Chieftaincy Minister and aspiring National Chairman of the NPP
Former Chieftaincy Minister and experienced politician, Stephen Asamoah Boateng has reiterated his stance that the NPP needs a well built party structure before it thinks about electing a flag-bearer to lead it into the 2028 elections.
Speaking on two Kumasi based radio stations on Wednesday night, the former Information Minister under President Kufuor said no structure would stand firm when its base or foundation is wobbly and shaky.
Likening the NPP to the construction of a house, Hon Boateng said no building can stand strong when its foundation is poorly laid or weakly constructed.
“I believe the NPP stands a better chance of working towards recapturing political power if it can put up a well structured base where all departments under it would be working before thinking of electing someone to lead it into elections”, the former Chieftaincy Minister stated.
Ambition:
Speaking about his ambition, Hon Boateng who is famously referred to as “Asabee”, said he would like to lead the NPP as national Chairman.
This intent, he noted was borne out of a desire to be that strong leader the NPP sorely needs at this time.
Hon. Boateng said the party having suffered a humiliating defeat at the polls in 2024, would need to begin necessary changes and reforms.
“The NPP would have to begin changes having reflected on the defeat it suffered at the polls so that it can become attractive to the people of Ghana again”, Asabee reiterated.
