Two arrested in Kumasi for producing fake “Kill It” insecticide spray

The Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters has announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with the production and distribution of counterfeit “Kill It” insecticide spray, a product of Miswa Chemicals Limited.

According to DSP Godwin Ahianyo, Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Regional Police, the suspects, Charity Bokye, 30, and Jacob Abekah, 60, were apprehended after Madam Abigail Del, reportedly from Miswa Chemicals Limited, informed the police about the fake products.

DSP Ahianyo stated that the fake products were sourced from Nigeria and were being sold as genuine “Kill It” insecticide spray.

The police have seized 40 boxes of the counterfeit product.

Madam Abigail expressed concern about the impact of these fake products on their business and sales, urging the public to be cautious when purchasing products from shops.

The police are urging anyone with information about the counterfeit products to come forward. This crackdown highlights the ongoing efforts to combat counterfeiting and protect consumers in the Ashanti Region.
