The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Elections Committee has announced that five aspirants have filed their nomination forms to contest for the party’s flagbearership position ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The aspirants are
– Ing. Kivabona Agyci) Aylepong
– Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, former Assin Central MP, who filed his nomination on August 27, 2025
– Dr. Bryan Acheampong, MP for Abetifi
– Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President and 2024 NPP Flagbearer, who filed his nomination on August 28, 2025
– Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, MP for Bosomtwe
The Presidential Primary is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The Committee in a press release copied to OTEC News desk on Thursday, assured all stakeholders of a transparent, credible, and fair process, guided by the party’s Constitution and Regulations.
The filing of nominations marks a significant step in the party’s electoral process, with the aspirants vying for the support of delegates to become the party’s next flagbearer.
