Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including the party’s National Youth Organiser, Salam Mustapha, have gathered at the Police Headquarters in Accra to protest the arrest and detention of social media activist Daniel Adomako, popularly known as Sir Obama Pokuase, and three others.

The arrest is linked to an alleged circulation of images showing individuals openly brandishing illegally acquired weapons.

According to the Ghana Police Service, Mr. Adomako was apprehended in a joint operation with other security agencies as part of an ongoing intelligence-led crackdown on illegal arms possession.

This operation, which has been underway for several weeks, has so far led to the recovery of a substantial cache of illegal arms and ammunition.
