Several feared dead in fatal collision on Accra–Kumasi highway

Several people are feared dead following a fatal collision between a sprinter passenger bus and a tipper truck at Nkawanda No. 2, along the Accra–Kumasi highway.

Eyewitnesses say several victims, including women, were seen lying motionless on the road, while parts of the two vehicles were scattered across the crash scene.

Although the exact cause of the collision is yet to be established, some travellers who ply the route have blamed the deadly potholes that have plagued the stretch in recent months.

According to them, the poor state of the road has been a major contributor to the rising number of accidents recorded in the area.
