Asante Mampong: Bretuo Royal Families to submit eligible chiefs to queen starting tuesday
The process to select a royal to occupy the vacant Silver Stool of the Asante Kingdom has resumed, with Bretuo families eligible to occupy the stool set to present their nominees from Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
The Chief of Ejura Divisional Council and Adontehene of Mampong Traditional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, made this known after the Mampong Traditional Council marked the Akwasidee Festival on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
According to Barimah Osei Hwedie II, the nominees are to submit their plea to the Queen of Mampong Traditional Area, Nana Agyarkoma Difie, between Tuesday and Sunday.
“The Queen met the Kingmakers and the royal family where they were informed to present their nominees for consideration,” he disclosed.
“The Kingmakers will scrutinize the requests to validate and ensure the right person is settled on to occupy the Silver Stool.”
“All nominees are to send their request to the queen mother at her palace, their request will be scrutinized by the Kingmakers to validate and ensure the right person is settled on to occupy the Silver Stool,” Barimah Osei Hwedie III emphasized,.
He assured that the Kingmakers, together with the Queen, will ensure strict adherence to all cultural protocols leading to the selection of the new chief.
Barimah Osei Hwedie II urged all who qualify and are interested to occupy the Silver Stool to follow the due procedures and submit their plea within the assigned timeline.
