Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has issued a strong warning to supporters of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer aspirants to desist from hurling insults and engaging in backbiting
He stressed that such divisive conduct could jeopardize the party’s unity and harms its chances in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at the commissioning of a new state-of-the-art Bantama constituency office in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Kufuor emphasized that the NPP’s return to power hinges on unity, discipline, and a shared commitment to the party’s ideals.
He reminded party faithful of the NPP’s proud legacy and achievements, cautioning that these would only hold value if the party remained united under one vision.
The new constituency office was constructed and commissioned by the Member of Parliament for Bantama, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, who said the facility would serve as a permanent hub for party mobilization, organization, and administration.
He reiterated his commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots base.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who also attended the ceremony, lauded Hon. Asenso-Boakye for his foresight and dedication.
He described the office as a critical centre for NPP operations in the region and urged other constituencies to emulate the example to solidify the party’s grassroots structures.
Taking aim at the opposition, President Akufo-Addo urged NPP members to actively promote the achievements of his government and that of former President Kufuor.
He criticized former President John Dramani Mahama’s previous term in office, describing his return as “woeful,” and called on Ghanaians to remain vigilant in comparing the NPP and NDC’s records.
