Manhyia South MP pays tribute to late Asantehemaa

Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah paying homage to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has described the passing of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, as a tragic loss to him personally and to the entire constituency.

The legislator, who was also a host at the Manhyia Palace during the funeral rites, was seen exchanging pleasantries with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, before sharing his reflections with journalists on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

“This is a painful loss. Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III was a source of inspiration to me, and I constantly drew from her wisdom and counsel,” the MP said.

 “Her passing is not just a personal tragedy, but a blow to the whole of Manhyia South and the Ashanti Kingdom.”

He further commended the late Queen Mother’s dedication to preserving Ashanti culture and tradition, stressing that her legacy would continue to guide future generations.

 “She was a mother figure to many, and her values will live on,” Nana Baffour Awuah added.
