NPP delegates should reject candidates who engage in insults – Dr. Ayew Afriyie

The Member of Parliament for Effiduase Asokore, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to vote against any candidate who engages in campaigns of insults.

According to Dr. Afriyie, the party’s main opponents, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), may end up using the same derogatory words against them during the campaign for the main polls.

Speaking in an interview,on the Kumasi based OTEC 102.9 FM’s afternoon political show Dwabrem, Dr. Afriyie emphasized the need for aspirants to focus on telling delegates what they can do for the party rather than engaging in personal attacks.

“Aspirants should tell delegates what you can do and stop personal attacks in your campaign,” he advised.

Dr. Afriyie warned that if NPP aspirants engage in name-calling and insults, it could boomerang and hurt the party’s chances in the general elections.

He urged delegates to reject any candidate who resorts to such tactics and instead choose someone who can lead the party to victory with dignity and integrity.

By doing so, Dr. Afriyie believes the NPP can maintain a clean and positive image, which is essential for winning the trust of voters.

He emphasized that the party’s success depends on the quality of its leadership and the campaigns they run.
