NPP Presidential Primaries: Ashanti Regional Council of Elders calls for decent campaigns

The NPP Ashanti Regional Council of Elders has issued a press statement urging aspiring presidential flagbearers and their campaign teams to maintain decency in their campaigns.
The Council noted with alarm certain grave developments relating to campaign pronouncements and utterances by some aspirants and their teams.
The Ashanti Regional Council of Elders deemed it necessary to step in and demand sanity in the conduct of those involved in the flagbearer campaign.
The Elders in a press release on Wednesday September 3, 2025 itemized inappropriate statements that should not be part of the campaigns, including insulting language directed at other aspirants, campaigning based on sectarianism, defamatory attacks, and any form of campaigning that could harm the party.
The Council emphasized the need for campaigning that gives respect to one another, prioritizes party unity, portrays the party’s values, and focuses on the ideas and vision of candidates.
They concluded by stating that they will follow the campaign of every aspiring flagbearer with eagle eyes.
The statement was signed by Victor Owusu, Secretary of the NPP Ashanti Regional Council of Elders.
