Asantehene’s guidance crucial to my success as Speaker – Bagbin

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has expressed his profound appreciation for the guidance and support he has received from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during his tenure as the Speaker of the 8th and 9th Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

Addressing the House on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Hon. Bagbin described the Asantehene as a father figure who has made significant contributions to the country’s development and democracy.

“I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the efforts and the gracious support of His Excellency Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,” he said.

“He has done tremendously well and will continue to be the father of all.”

“We know his passion in multiparty democracy; he has been a guide to all of us, particularly to me as the Speaker of the 8th and the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana,” Hon. Bagbin stated.

He emphasized the Asantehene’s impact on Ghana’s democracy and development, adding that Otumfuo has played a central role in helping high-profile individuals in Ghana.
