Bomfa Adumasa robbery: Two suspects remanded, third suspect at large

The Bompata District Court has remanded two suspected armed robbers into police custody in connection with a robbery incident at Bomfa Adumasa in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The incident, which occurred on Monday, October 20, involved armed men on a motorbike who attacked some gold buyers in the community and fired gunshots indiscriminately while fleeing the scene.

Six residents sustained varying degrees of injury after they were hit by stray bullets and rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The suspects, who were initially handed over to the Konongo District Police Command and later referred to the Konongo Divisional Police Command, were arraigned before the Bompata District Court on Thursday, October 23.

They were remanded into police custody to reappear on November 6, 2025.

Speaking to Citi News, the Konongo Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Frederick Asare Mensah, confirmed the incident and said efforts are being intensified to arrest a third suspect who is currently on the run.

“We are making a frantic efforts to arrest the third suspect, who is currently at large. And we believe he will surely be arrested,” he said.

He also urged residents to remain calm as the police work to ensure justice is served.
