A/R:  Mother and baby injured as fire destroys 13-bedroom house at Manso Takorase

A devastating fire outbreak has destroyed a 13-bedroom house at Manso Takorase in the Amansie South district of the Ashanti Region, leaving a mother and her baby with severe injuries.

Although the cause of the fire is yet to be determined by experts, residents suspect the fire was triggered by a gas explosion caused by lightning during a rainfall.

The sad incident which occurred on Sunday  November 12,2025 has left dozens stranded with no accommodation.

The owner of the house, Pastor Daniel Owusu Amoako, head of True Faith Church International, recounted the harrowing experience, saying, “I managed to rescue my injured wife and child from the inferno, and they are now receiving medical attention at Manso Agroyesum Catholic Hospital.”

Assembly Member for the area, Hon Dominic Bonsu, , appealed for support to help the affected family rebuild their lives.

“We are calling on philanthropists and well-widers to come to the aid of the family,” he said.

Hon Benjamin Marfo, DCE for Amansie South district, who visited the scene, emphasized the importance of fire safety education, particularly on the proper use of gas.

“We must join forces to prevent such incidents,” he said, commending the Ghana National Fire Service for their efforts.
