Islamic SHS prefect death: “My accusers will face God’s judgment”— suicide note

A final-year Business student of Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi, Samiru Abass, who tragically ended his life on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, did so to proclaim his innocence in a case of alleged misconduct.

Fresh details from the school indicate that Abass, before jumping to his death, declared that he had been falsely accused and that “his accusers will face God’s judgment.”

According to sources within the school, Abass had been accused of kissing and fondling a female student in a classroom, a claim brought forward by a teacher who allegedly caught the two and seized Abass’ school shirt as evidence.

The matter was immediately referred to the school’s disciplinary committee for action, the source disclosed.

After appearing before the committee, Abass was reportedly instructed to retrieve his seized shirt from the teacher.

It was during this moment that he climbed to the upper floor of a school block and jumped, dying on impact.

Eyewitnesses said he left chilling words expressing his innocence and invoked divine judgment on those who accused him falsely.

This contradicts earlier reports suggesting Samiru Abass had been contemplating of committing suicide, for unknown reasons.

The incident has sparked intense discussions within the school community, with students and some teachers expressing shock and sorrow.

Some students who spoke to Otec News are questioning the handling of the case and are calling for psychological support services in schools to help students facing distress.

Authorities have yet to officially comment as investigations into the incident continue.
