NPP Flagbearership Race: My era will ensure 100 engineers annually in every constituency – Dr Adutwum

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum has unveiled an ambitious vision to rapidly expand Ghana’s technical and human resource capacity, pledging that under his leadership, the party will work to produce at least 100 engineers annually in every constituency across the country.

Speaking during an engagement with party delegates today, November 25,2025 as part of his flagbearership campaign, the former Education Minister said Ghana’s transformation hinges on a strong pool of professionals equipped with the skills needed to drive industrialization, innovation, and national development.

“My era will ensure the production of 100 engineers every year in every constituency if voted as president of Ghana,” Dr. Adutwum stated.

“This country cannot develop without engineers. If we want factories, roads, industries, and technological progress, then we must invest heavily in technical and engineering education.”

Dr. Adutwum explained that his plan is grounded in strategic educational reforms aimed at expanding STEM opportunities, modernizing learning infrastructure, and promoting partnerships between government, industry, and academic institutions.

According to him, engineering talent is a critical component for jobs of the future and key to lifting communities out of poverty.

He added that Ghana has the potential to become a hub of innovation in Africa if the right investments are made in human capital. Producing large numbers of engineers, he emphasized, will not only address unemployment but will also empower young people to create solutions to local problems.

The flagbearer aspirant also urged delegates to support a leader who understands the transformative power of education and possesses a proven track record of delivering impactful reforms.

He maintained that the NPP must present a forward-looking agenda that strengthens skills development and accelerates national progress.

Dr. Adutwum’s message continues to resonate with supporters who believe his vision aligns with the country’s long-term development needs as momentum builds in the NPP flagbearership race,
