Photos: Adutwum’s people first vision fuels powerful emotional backing in Amansie

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum’s commitment to human capital development has ignited strong emotional and political support among delegates in the Amansie districts of the Ashanti Region, following his sponsorship of 150 students pursuing studies in engineering and medicine.

The atmosphere was charged with emotion as Dr. Adutwum shared the motivation behind the initiative, explaining how the beneficiaries many of whom once had little hope of attaining higher education are now positioned to become professionals who can transform their families and communities.

Delegates described the intervention as a clear demonstration of leadership rooted in empathy, foresight, and practical solutions to Ghana’s socioeconomic challenges.

Several questioned why some political actors seeking leadership positions are unable to account for their stewardship, yet continue to make lofty promises.

According to the delegates, competence, understanding of national challenges, and a proven record of delivery must guide the party’s choice going into the 2026 presidential election.

They argue that Dr. Adutwum’s track record in education and human development sets him apart.

“We are duty-bound to create systems that give our young people dignity and the capacity to change the dynamics of our society,” one delegate stated, pointing to the sponsorship programme as a blueprint for sustainable development.

Others expressed a personal connection to Dr. Adutwum’s vision, noting that such policies have the potential to uplift entire families and significantly reduce poverty.

“I want my family to benefit from this same human development orientation,” another delegate remarked, describing him as the right man for the job and urging the Ashanti Region to lead the charge.

Delegates in the Amansie area say their sentiments reflect similar feedback from other constituencies Dr. Adutwum has visited across the Ashanti Region.

They have collectively vowed to work tirelessly to ensure he emerges as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
